Winter sight

With the January temperatures finally arriving in New England, another visible sign of mid winter has made itself known. The first of my 2 spiked orchids has started to blossom. Lest anyone think I am crazier than I actually am, Phalaeonopsis thrive on neglect. Get the light conditions right and try to remember to water them once a week and you are all set. At any rate with the weather reports saying that we will see the temperatures drop into the single digits tonight and with the wind chill it will feel like it is in the minus column, it's nice to have a little piece of the tropics in the house.
